Why Christian Counseling?

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11

That is a pretty good start. Christian counseling is more than counseling that happens to be from a Christian. Because while having a counselor who is a Christian implies a lot of very good things, (unconditional love, grace, acceptance, hope, honesty, sincerity etc), counseling which incorporates the Christian faith gives access to another power and entire set of resources. And these resources are divine. This power is the same power that raises the dead to life. That’s a lot of power!

Christian counseling allows for a guidance and authority beyond one counselors opinion. It provides a perspective and word on matters that has legitimacy transcending sex, class, and culture – having stood the tests of time and intense scrutiny to serve as inspiration to billions. It gives opportunity to find a reference point for reality that is outside of us, reliable and unchanging. Christian counseling invites the whole person into the healing process – body, mind and spirit.
